Q: Do you accept old and/or broken cell phones? A: Yes, Cells For Cells can recycle any and all cell phones, palm and blackberry devices in any condition, new, used and even outdated.  Q: What if I don’t have the charger and other accessories for the cell phones? A: Even though we prefer that you send chargers and batteries with the cell phones, your cell phones alone will help raise funds for the families battling cancer. Q: How does a cell phone(s) turn into money to help a family battling cancer? A: Cell phones are reconditioned and resold individually, in bulk or as recyclable material. A percentage of the profits set aside for our Extreme Medical Bill Makeover program and other charitable organizations which help families battling cancer. Q: Does Cells For Cells clear the data out of the cell phones before they are resold? A: We clear all data from the cell phones that are resold individually. Cell phones that are recycled (crushed for material separation) do not get the data removed. We recommend that you clear all the data before you donate your phones. Q: How much is a cell phone worth (what is the recyclable value)? A: Current cell phone models in the most demand may yield $10.00 or more. Older yet still usable cell phones can generate $1.00 to $5.00 per phone. All other cell phones, including outdated and obsolete models can still bring in $0.05 to $0.50 each. As a general rule of thumb, you can conservatively target and average of $1.00 per phone, but it will ultimately come down to the quality of cell phones collected. Q: Can I donate batteries and chargers? A: Yes, Cells For Cells also accepts cell phone batteries and chargers. Â
